Abstract

Blockchain technology plays a key role in enhancing the security, transparency, and reliability in e-commerce processes. This research work proposes a blockchain-based e-commerce system by integrating traditional web technologies and the ethereum smart contracts for performing cryptocurrency transactions. In the proposed solution, a combination of Web2 and Web3 will be used: the application services such as product management and user transactions will run off-chain, whereas the payment process, escrow service and transactions settlement will run by executing transactions through Solidity smart contracts on the Ethereum Sepolia test network. In order to implement the platform, ReactJS, Node.js, Web3.js, MetaMask and Remix IDE frameworks will be used. The experimental evaluation covers smart contract deployment, latency measurement, transaction cost measurement, function validation and security testing. The obtained outcomes confirm successful transaction execution, consistent confirmation latency, reliable smart contract execution and payment security through the wallet.
